Massachusetts Community College Transfer Program

We proudly accept MassTransfer Gen Ed Foundation courses for transfer credit to University of Massachusetts Global. Students who are studying at a Massachusetts Community Colleges may be eligible for a program called MassTransfer Gen Ed Foundation. When completed with a 2.0 or higher GPA, these credits fully transfer to UMass Global and may satisfy the general education degree requirements - even if you don’t have your associate degree.

If you want a four-year degree, we’re here to help!

UMass Global has mapped its curriculum to make transferring from other colleges as fast and cost-efficient as possible; this is known as "course articulation". The mapping represents coursework that UMass Global will accept in transfer to meet course equivalencies, general education, or general elective credit. This means no wasted time or money on classes you don’t need and less stress about which classes to take when. Check out the DIY Transfer Tool for a rough idea of what courses may transfer. It’s never too early to start planning! Grab your transcripts and Connect With An Enrollment Coach for a complete review of transfer credits.

Self-Paced, Competency-Based

We offer 10 business and information technology degrees through UMass Global MyPath, our competency-based education program. MyPath courses are completely self-paced, meaning students work through their coursework without set deadlines. Students individually complete each section and move on to the next, as they establish competency. It’s the perfect format for some students, especially those with changing work schedules. With MyPath, students can take as many courses as they want within a 24-week billing cycle, all for one set fee.

Instructor-Led, Session-Based

Most of UMass Global degree, certificate, and credential courses are led by an instructor and are completed in eight-week sessions. These courses are a mixture of online classroom lectures, group discussions, projects, papers, and other coursework that needs to be completed and delivered on dates set by the instructor, hence the “instructor-led” title.
